At 8 AM we started from the railway station with 22 persons. A 45 minutes drive took us to the starting point of the hike near the Huay Lan reservoir. Two others arrived just in time to join us, so we started with 24 hikers and 3 dogs. The first part of the hike was rather flat taking us around the foot of a hill. At the backside of this hill the trail started to climb and we all started to feel the heat and humidity. It took quite some time before all 24 hikers had reached the highest part of the hike, which was about 179 meter higher than the beginning of the hike (lowest point: 368 m, highest point: 547 m). From there the trail continued down until we reached a small dam where we took a short break. Two persons had to abandon the hike halfway, taking a short-cut back to the starting point. One of them has to buy new shoes before joining the next hike 🙂 The others continued the hike via another small dam and finally along the eastside of the main Huay lan reservoir. Via the big dam we reached our starting point again. We managed to complete the hike in 4.5 hours. Total distance was 13 km.
