On the way up

Seven of us met at the arboretum and car pooled out to Huay Tung Thao where we were met by 10 others. It seems the numbers of hikers is growing, and we welcome the newcomers into what has become a very congenial group. With the help of Phillip, we had a successful hike without getting off the track. He led us up to Dhat Mork waterfall by the slightly longer route which follows along side the stream, where enjoyed our snacks and the amazing height of this waterfall.

One of the hikers climbed up to the area where there used to be ladders and found they are no longer there. We returned on the same trail, turning off it to take a right hand turn down, cross the stream, and on to the next junction where Phillip offered to take any interested hikers on a longer and steeper return route. Five of the group took up his offer and the other 12 continued back, stopping at an overlook of the lake for several minutes. When we got back to the lake we waited for the other 5 at the large sala on the lake for about 40 minutes. When they arrived there were 6 of them as one more hiker had joined them after finding them on the trail. From there most of the group drove around to the other side of the lake to enjoy lunch at a restaurant, which turned out to be a good choice of a place to eat.

  1. Thank you Janet for the nice hiking. Ok the beginning was for me heavy…but after the split for the easy route and difficult route, I am glad I have chosen for you (the easy route…) It was for me and my husband the first time we go hiking with the Club… but we like and we hope to see you next time.. And thanks for all the other people who helped me with pep talking!!
