After the group which met at the end of Suthep road divided up, the easy hike was left with 13 members. Four of them were new to the group and we hope to see some of them again. We headed up the road toward the mountain under overcast skies, had a happy climb on this gradual, stony incline, arriving at Wat Palad about 9:40, having stopped once along the way where there are some benches. We had almost forgotten how ominous the skies looked, so sat around enjoying each others’ company and the beauty of the view, water, and temple until 10:30. About 1/2 way back to the trail head it bagan to rain. Most of the hikers had some form of rain gear, and the rain was mostly gentle. No complaints! A nice easy hike. And after we got back to the cars , the group stopped for coffee or hot chocolate on Suthep road.
