Hike at the twin dams by registration, for the first 15 to sign up. Cost 180 bt or more if less than 15 register. Guide tips optional.
This is an unusual hike in that it begins and ends with a 15-20 min. boat ride and is led by local Thai guides. We cross the Mae Kuang reservoir at the twin dams and a pickup truck meets us where we disembark, driving us through Ban Pa Sak Ngam (Beautiful Teak Forest village) to the starting point. The walk is mostly level other than a steep descent near the end (drop 130 metres over 600 metres), and there are many interesting points to see along the way: a cave, 700 yr. old temple ruins, a “spirit market”, and a beautiful waterfall. Estimated time of return to the boat dock is 2:30
To register please reply to Janet Greenleaf at email@example.com or call 087-1808040 by Friday 7 Sept.
