16 of us assembled in good time and we set off over the dam at 09:30 hours. The trail took us from the dam into a more shaded area with a forest canopy. We were disappointed to find part of the trail blocked by fly tippers but there was a well defined diversion. We were happy to find waterlilies is full bloom on a pond on our right hand side.
We reached Huay Tung Taew in good time and walked round clockwise to our favourite restaurant on the “beach” area. There was no problem finding two tables each seating eight for our group. After an enjoyable social break we continued from the restaurant, at 13:00 hours, over the dam and rejoined the forest trail. Our walk back was marred by several incompetent “tourist” Quad drivers who created much dust and interruption. We failed to find the big spider near the Stadium Reservoir and fear it has succumbed. On the way back fast movers went ahead while I was back marker and we reached the end of the walk at 14:55 hours.
