The air was cool and the trails mostly well shaded, so we didn’t feel the heat until we continued on after lunch. Instead of taking the wider trail from the 5 way junction we took the one which leads to the road at Pha Nguep, but then took the connecting path back over to the trail to the temple. There are 2 places along this trail which are full of the branches of fallen trees, so that fairly long detour trails have been cut. And then there are the usual trees fallen across the trail which can be climbed over or under. Perhaps all these are the reasons we arrived at the temple at 1:45 rather than 1:30 when we had asked the song taos to pick us up. We all 17 plus one dog arrived back at the arboretum in good spirits.
