Op Khan

Since the rains have started, we will plan a hike at Op Khan, a beautiful river gorge national park south of Chiang Mai. We have a circular hike of about 10 km. that we have done there a number of times with possibilities of climbing along the rocky edge or on higher, shady trails. This is a moderate hike with a few short, steep areas and a lovely place to enjoy lunch on the river’s edge. We will meet at the CM Art museum parking lot at 7:50 and car pool to the park, which is about an 18-20 km. drive away. We should be back by 2pm
Hike leader:

If you want to join just turn up at the meeting place on the day. We cannot accommodate groups.

  1. Hi
Is there a way to input the coordinates at the meeting place

  2. Ulf, just to let you know, if you’re thinking of taking your dogs, that Ob Khan NP has signs up to say “no dogs” or “no pets” and there are cages near the entrance. I’m not sure they always enforce this rule though but prepare for problems. 😉 Wish I could join you all.

    • Hi Mike

Have been there several times and it has never been a problem but thanks for your comment.

  3. Hi Janet
We take another haik for ourselves on Sunday we do not want to create any problems when it seems to be highly relevant to a lot of signs, before Chiangmai haiking group knows what is what.

    • Dear Ulf and all hikers,
I will plan to go to the Doi Suthep park headquarters this coming week and see if they can explain the signs and what it means for hikers.
