Hidden Waterfall

This hike is a shortened version of previous hikes to the hidden waterfall as it will start with a ride up to Wat Doi Suthep. From there we will walk to the 5-way junction and on to the hidden waterfall, afterword eating our pack lunch in the orchard there. We will cross the stream on the big log and continue on down to cross the road at Wang Bua Ban and end up at the arboretum. Estimated time is 4-5 hours, leaving the arboretum at 8am and returning by 1pm.

Bring :

  • around 1.5-2 liters of water or more, snacks and picnic lunch
  • correct money for transport (at least 40 bt).
  • good footwear etc. hat, rain wear, insect repellent and sun-block
  • energy, enthusiasm and a good sense of humour.

    Just turn up at the meeting place on the day and on time.

    We cannot accommodate groups.

    Meeting Place

    This time we will meet at 07:50 in the car park of the Huay Kaeow Arboretum (also known as the exercise park).

  • Head straight out from the moat 3.5 km towards Doi Suthep on Huay Kaeow Road.
  • The arboretum is on the left after the front entrance to Chiang Mai University and just before the entrance to the Zoo.
  • The car park of the arboretum is at the end of the park near the zoo.

  1. This particular hike was posted on 27/5/2013, but nowhere on this page does it state the date the hike takes place. Should the reader always assume that the date of the hike will be the Sunday following the date the hike is posted?

  2. The hike is 130602 (2013 June 02). This is the way all hikes are posted to keep them in chronological order. Janet

  3. I am going to have a business trip in CM and heard that you have these hikes. Sound very much fun, so any plans for next Sunday (9 June) hike? How hard are the hikes?
