Quite a big group turned up for this “suitable for all; something different” hike. Sixteen met at the stadium by 07.30 and shared four cars to Mon Jaem but, by 08.30, 25 of us (and three dogs) started (and later finished) the hike, with a few regulars missing (and missed) but a few returners and half a dozen newbies, which made for a very nice group, including at least five Thai hikers. Youngest hiker four years old. Nice breezes, shady trails, cool pine-scented air, clear long-distance ridge views. Lovely.
Three pickups passed us early on, which had me worried we might meet too much traffic on the vehicle tracks, but nothing else after that. We didn’t get lost, though our designated back marker raced off ahead with a keen group just before we reached the turn off the tracks onto the narrower trail, so the ‘peloton’ had to call them back to go the right way. Lunch in the restaurant and back home just after 1pm. A good new addition to the repertoire.
