Clear skies greeted us Sunday morning when 12 hikers, of at least 6 different nationalities, turned up at the Arboretum, 5 of them new to the group. All were in good spirits and good hikers. We used one car and a songtaw to travel up to the parking lot below the temple and arrived at the palace at about 10:45, having pushed our way through the wet tangles of an overgrown trail, a couple of deep gorges and a steep final climb. Before our delicious restaurant lunch we walked out to the steep cliff to see if there was a view, and there was.
On the return we took a slightly different route to get off the road, and then reconnected with the mountain bikers’ trail, and were back at the arboretum by 1:50. Janet
