25 hikers and two dogs met up this lovely Loy Kratong morning.

We carpooled 20 minutes up to the starting point, a gravel road adjacent to Sameung Rd.

After a little tinkering, we had placed Richard’s car at the end point, to avoid needing to hike back on the main road.

The eager hikers now headed south up the dirt road with wonderful views of Doi Suthep / Doi Pui.

After half an hour of hiking up a rather long incline, we met our beautiful forest road road in a shady and lush forest and followed a ridge up westward.

Anders made it very clear now: ” Do not rush ahead, wait for me at the next intersection”. 5 naughty hikers did not listen, but just rushed on in advance. Up on the top of the ridge, Ander’s phone rang, “we are lost …”…. OK.

The group had to wait for the disobedient hikers at the picnic site on the other side of the mountain, an orchard with a few ponds. The disobedient hikers showed up after a while. During the remainder of the hike they behaved exemplary. No names mentioned. But a few yellow cards were handed out.

Sightings during the hike included a scorpian by Ulf, and many beautiful flowers by all.

After our snack stop we hiked down east through a lovely green forest. Good views to Doi Suthep again.

At the end point Richard’s pick up was waiting for us. Loaded with drivers on the platform, Thai style 100%, we drove up to the start point and picked up the rest of the cars.

Then we headed to our favorite place for lunch; The Idol Cafe.

A wonderful and easy hike in a peaceful area near Chiang Mai .
