131124_The northern part of Op Khan National Park.

This is an easy hike. There is only a short section that requires a little extra attention and caution. Estimated time: Approximately 3 hours .Distance: 8 km.We will meet again at the mini mart before the roundabout near the Night Safari at 08:00 AM. Carpooling at 08:10 AM to the starting point, a 20 minutes drive up to a gravel road that connects to Samoeng Rd.We will hike up south through a small village on the country road.Up on the ridge, the road folds downward. Shortly we enter into a picturesque Thai village. They seems to be specialized infish farming. We walk up through the village westwards, and comes to the village’s main water reservoir. It is a real lake. Now we are following a creek upstream, that supplies the pond with water. To begin with, no problem, we walk along the water pipes on a good path. But soon it becomes a bit trickery. The path crosses the creek several times, and there is a risk of wet shoes!
We must now hike on a narrow trail along a steepravine that follows the creek. It is about 150 meters. Anders has cleared the path so there is no problem. Just be careful and pay attention! The trail returns to follow the water pipes, and soon we come outto a wonderful valley with banana plantation. We follow the small road throughthe banana trees. Folds up into the woods ona new path. Walking up to the east. Hiking througha lush forest that ends at the gravel road that was our starting point. After the hike we have our usual lunch at the Idol Cafe .Pam will pre order the lunch.
