140118-140119_Trip Report__Mae Ngat Reservoir Weekend.

A total of 27 people were meeting at around 10:00 am  at Mae Ngat Reservoir, some of us met in the morning at the 700 year Stadium to share cars/motorbikes, some of us went directly to the Reservoir.

We had two boats bringing us to  Ekchai Houseboat, one for the passengers and one for the luggage. After our arrival, we started slowly to check in as the houses were getting prepared and cleaned for the new guests. After our lunch, 23 of us went for a hike on the other side of the reservoir, a 10-minutes boat trip away from Ekachai.

For the first 40 minutes we had a relatively easy walk along the water stream. Afterwards we had to climb up quite steeply and in order to support some of us with the ascent, we attached a rope to some of the trees. Nevertheless some people were falling over because of small sliding stones.  Because of a misunderstanding, some faster people were taking a wrong way which caused a delay of around 40 minutes. As we asked the skipper to pick us up after 3 hours 20 minutes , we had to cancel our walk to the cave and took a shortcut back to our starting point.

After we came back to Ekachai, we had showers and then we came together for dinner and drinks. In the later evening Disk -jockey Pam organized a party which continued until around midnight at which point we tried to find back to our houses, sometimes with each others help.

The next morning we had breakfast and some of us rented kayaks.

At 1:00 pm the boat was taking us back to the village , we had to reorganize some of the carpools and then we were going home, most of us a bit tired and exhausted.

Thanks to all of you for the wonderful weekend  !!
