For our hike on May 4th, most of us were meeting at the meeting point on Canal Road with some others joining us on our way to the starting point.
A total of 23 hikers started the hike at 8:40 AM with a slow and gentle walk in a fresh and cool morning breeze. After around 10 minutes we arrived at the first water stream where we had to change our shoes and shortly afterwards we continued our hike along the water stream passing it a number of times.
. After around 4 km we changed back to the hiking shoes and started to walk uphill having two small breaks before arriving on the top.
After we arrived on the top, a group of 5 hikers decided to disperse from the group looking for a trail to a small Buffalo village along Samoeng Road.
The rest of the group descended to a tomato farm where we had a 20 minute lunch break.
We then continued with our hike on mostly flat terrain. Shortly afterwards we were coming to a lychee farm where the owner allowed us to pick some of the fruits which tasted quite sour. We then walked back to the water stream, changed our shoes again and had to cross the river quite often.
We were trying not to lose anybody and therefore our pace was becoming quite slow allowing a number of hikers to take a bath in the fresh and cooling river water.
Around 4 km before we arrived at our morning starting point, the second group of 5 people rejoined with us and the whole group walked back to the cars and motorbikes The total time of our hike was 6 hours. Afterwards all of us enjoyed food and drinks at the Canyon Restaurant.
