A good turnout of 27 people for this quite tough hike, including quite a few newbies.
The day started lovely clear and cool with great views across the ridges.
A difficult hike to write a trip report for as the intended two groups (initially 10 rollers and 17 coasters) repeatedly split and reformed, with much promiscuous overlapping. I will let the pictures tell most of the story.
Later we walked in the damp but atmospheric clouds, but just managed to get back before the heavy rain started, for which some downhill slippers and sliders were truly grateful. The main group of coasters completed their shorter hike in about 4.5 hours, the rollers finished their longer route in approximately 5 hours, and the last stragglers from the in-betweeners (roasters?) group came in shortly afterwards. Congratulations to all on completing one of the group’s tougher hikes.
Thanks to Chan and Christine for today’s great photos.
