Seven hikers met at the standing Buddha, including two enthusiastic new hikers. (Sorry that one additional would-be hiker was a little too late to join us; we didn’t leave until after 5 past 3.) The weather was cool, the trails were clear, the pace was comfortable for all, the cobras stayed away and we even had time for a few selfies.
Wonderful clear views on the way back down, over Huay Tung Tao lake, also 50 kms east across the Chiangmai valley to Doi Mot-Doi Phi Pannam and Doi Lanka, and even north to Doi Chiang Dao about 60 kms away. Lovely sunset on the drive home too.
A nice group for a nice hike. 5.5 kms, up/down about 240m, walking about 2 hrs, waterfall selfies 10 minutes. And using about 347 calories, I’m reliably informed. Is that enough for a beer or a piece of cake?
