14/12/21_An Alternative hike_Srisangwan Waterfall

At the falls

At the falls

This is the easier hike offer. The walk to and from the waterfall is straight forward, so “easy”, but there is a steep climb down of about 150 meters to the waterfall. The reward is a beautiful waterfall with plenty of room to sit on the rocks, and the option of going into the pool for a swim or just to wade. We will enjoy a leisurely lunch there. The walk back down to the starting point is exposed, so come prepared with a hat or umbrella in case it is a sunny day. We will meet and 7:45 for an 8:00 start on the Night Safari road, before the round-about in front of the Royal Flora entrance, and then car pool to the starting point along the Samoeng Road. Be sure to give your driver 100 baht to cover petrol costs.

Hike leader: Janet

  1. Hey Janet, does this hike start from Wat Pa Thammachart? Haven’t decided which hike to do yet but have been on an exploratory hike behind the temple and it’s quite beautiful!

    • Dear Kurt,
A group of us did an exploratory from Wat Pa Thammachart to the waterfall, but much of it was jungle bashing and not appropriate for a Sunday hike, so we will do the simple, straight forward hike. Yes, we have hiked from the area behind the temple, but going in the opposite direction from the waterfall.

      • Will this hike start from Wat Pa Thammachart and if not, would you be able to tell me from where? Should I decide to join you, I’d probably bike over to the start point a bit earlier. Thanks, Kurt

  2. Will anyone who is planning on doing this hike be passing by Chiang Mai gate on their way to the starting point? I would like a lift if possible.
