A beautiful sunny day, neither too cold nor too warm, must have been the reason 23 hikers chose to do this hike. There was a bit of confusion at the meeting point as 2 marathons were using the route of the Night Safari Road, one for runners and another for bikers. But we all managed to park our cars near the round-about and find each other. One hiker met us at the starting point, the park entrance on Samoeng Road. The hike up to the waterfall on the rocky road was unremarkable and we were at the waterfall by 10am.
No one seemed to mind having an early lunch there. The water was icy cold, uninviting to potential swimmers, but a few waded ankle deep. Five strong hikers from the group did 2 exploratory hikes, finding first what looks to be a better connection between Mae Deut and Srisangwan waterfalls, and then tried to find their way to the bottom of Srisanwan waterfall, while the main group were doing the easy hike or resting at the waterfall, but we were together for a short while at the waterfall and again at the end, so most of us enjoyed a second lunch at Bamboo house.
