15/04/05_Trip Report_Mae Kampong waterfall loop second group

Trip report from the second group.
The high speed group left us behind after a couple of minutes.
The rest of us hiked up through the picturesque village in a slow tempo and reached soon the waterfall. At the end point of the falls we had a well needed water break. The first group was already gone.

We continued up along the creek and the coffee plantations. Suddenly we meet two hikers from the first group, so now we were extended to 15 hikers.
At the foot of the steep section up to the ranger station we had a snack break and refueled energy. Afterwards everyone made it up to the station with a smile.

At the view point we had our lunch break. Unfortunately the views were a bit limited. But the pleasant temperature and the cool breeze was a good compensation.

After a quick lunch we continued on the trail. Soon we reached the burned area, and here I managed to get our group lost, but “nemas problemas”, we found soon our trail.
At the corral we started to heading down back to the village. It was an easy hike on a good trail. At the giant tree we had a funny group picture.

Soon we were back in the village. But now our problem. Where is Mike’s group? No signal in our phones. We decided to hike up to the temple and the nearby noodle bar and wait. No sight of the fast hikers. Suddenly two showed up, but they did not have a clue where the rest 5 were. So we just relax with beer and noodles. Now we know they stayed in a restaurant near the school.
