25 hikers were coming to our meeting point at the Arboretum Car park for this hike. 21 of us shared a Songtao and 4 hikers were driving up to the Starting point by themselves. At around 8:45 AM we started our hike and the temperatures at the altitude of the Doi Pui checkpoint were quite comfortable compared to the city. We initially planned to walk up to Doi Pui summit, but changed our plan and walked along the street to the Sala to avoid potenial leeches.
At the Sala , we stopped for a 5 minutes break and started then to climb steep downhill towards the direction of Baan Kun Chang Kien village, not missing some opportunities to take pictures.
After around 1.5 hours , we arrived at Baan Kun Chang Kien village and had a coffee break for about 10 to 15 minutes before we continued our hike towards the 5-Way-Junction.
On our way we lost 6 hikers and the rest of the group waited around 10 -15 minutes at the 3-Way-Junction before the bigger group continued to walk towards the 5-Way-Junction leaving the hike leader behind to wait for the 6 lost hikers. After the hike leader was informed about the whereabouts of the 6 hikers, she decided not to wait for them , but to catch up with the bigger group at the 5-Way-Junction where we had our lunch break. After the break , we continued our hike , but left a wooden arrow behind in order to show the way we have taken to the 6 hikers we expected not be too far behind us. After 5 hours 18 minutes the big group finished the hike with the delayed smaller group of 6Baan Kun Chang Kien catching up with us around 15 minutes later. We had lunch together at the Doi Suthep Car Park .
Afterwards most of us went back by Songtao to the Arboretum Car park while some of us went up to Doi Suthep Temple.
Thank to all of you for joining the hike 😉
