20 hikers arrived at the meeting point for our hike on July 12th. We shared/pooled cars and motorbikes to Baan Doi Pui. At 8:50 am we started the hike amongst cooler temperatures than in the city but with noticeable high humidity. We first walked slowly up and down until we arrived at the 3-Way junction ( Buddha Footprint/Doi Pui Summit/ Baan Doi Pui) where we split into 2 groups ( faster/Stephen, slower/Pam) .
We then walked steep uphill direction to Doi Pui Summit, arriving at about 11:00 am at the Princess Sala where we had snacks/lunch/drinks.
After around 20 minutes we walked the remaining 200 meters up to the peak of Doi Pui . The hike leader spotted a hornets’ nest, but no attacks were reported.
We were then taking our group picture at the summit and started our descend with some people being attacked by leeches.
Just afterwards it started to rain heavily for about 15 minutes and it was still raining a bit when we arrived at Baan Doi Pui, where we had our lunch. Total duration of the hike: 4 hours
Thank to all of you for joining our hike
