22 hikers arrived at our meeting point on Sunday morning. At 7:40 AM we started to drive to our starting point in Baan Mae Aen. 2 more hikers waited for us along Mae Rim Road, bringing the total number for our group to 24. Around 8:20 AM we started our hike. We first walked for about 1 km through the village, then we came to a dirt road and finally to our trail. Although it was announced in the hiking invitation, that there would not be any steep up-and/or downhill sections, just the opposite turned out to be the truth — sorry for this flaw in the invitation. At around 10:30 AM and after nearly 2 hours of steep uphill walking and lots of mushrooms which were drawing the interest of some hikers,
We then came to a dirt road behind a reservoir and had to walk about 2 km back to our starting point, where we planned to have some noodles but the place was closed. We were driving around and found another noodle shop around 5 km away , where we had pork/beef noodles ( 25 Baht) and some drinks before everybody went home.
