29 hikers assembled at the two meeting points on time and shared 8 cars and 1 motorbike to get to the destination and then shuffle between hike start and end points. We began hiking at 08.55, by which time the air was already smokey.
The fast group waited for the slow group for 30 minutes at the junction which is the turning point for the descent from the mountain but the slow group didn’t catch up in that time. So, P.G. waited at the junction and the other fast group hikers moved on to the lunch place, where the slow group came quite soon and we enjoyed lunch together with nice views.
We began hiking again at 12:00 after lunch. The grass of the trail was cut neatly (I wonder who did that – ed 😉 but it was very slippery with dry grass on the steep downhill sections and many hikers slipped. We then reached the end point at 15:00.
6 hikers went straight back to Chiang Mai, while the other 23 went to our favorite restaurant and enjoyed meals and beer.
