Three hikers met at the rendezvous point on a hot Sunday morning and proceeded, by car, to the start point at Wat Doi Suthep where we were joined by another hiker who had decided to cycle up instead of taking the 4-wheeled option.
We set off from the start point at about 08:30 and followed the trail through the forest, nice and cool with an occasional light breeze, and made good progress up to Five Way Junction where we paused for a short water-break. On our way we came upon a curious sight, a mass of white insects on some plants, if anyone can identify them please let me know.
From Five Way Junction it was a relatively short uphill trek to Ban Khun Chang Khian where we stopped for coffee and snacks before commencing our descent through the forest and on to a dirt road that took us back to Five Way Junction where another short break was taken for some rehydration. From there we retraced our steps back to Wat Doi Suthep and the heat of the afternoon.
Thanks to all for the company and Jenny and Chan for the photos
The average stats for the hike are 19km with a total ascent of 880mtrs and a total time of 5hrs 45mins
