Here are some later photos from the rain-afflicted hike, from Waka.
Rain stopped play!
About ten people turned up for this hike. Although the morning was initially dry but overcast the heavens opened up just at we reached the overgrown view point on the far ridge and it was decided to cut short the hike and return to the restaurant – a wise decision as the rain accompanied us all the way back to Chiang Mai. The rain-soaked hike lasted two hours and covered six kilometres. Highlight of the day was a brief glimpse of a black snake, presumably heading for dry ground, which remains unidentified.
