30 hikers turned up, including welcome old faces/returners and newbies/visitors.
We were lucky with the weather – no rain – but it’s still pretty humid for the time of year.
With Ajarn G leading the way, we made easy progress around this familiar route, and discussion turned to suggestions and plans for more ambitious hikes this cool season and beyond, from Ob Khan to Lanka Noi to Mon Jong to Everest Basecamp (don’t worry, that’s four hikes, not one). We’ll be kept very busy trying them all but a number of hikers mentioned/showed off recent GPS purchases so we should have plenty of leaders to organise them. We hope.
Still quite a lot of water in Chiang Khian waterfall for the kids to play in. The group kept together very well and nobody got lost.
We covered the 7 kms in 3.5 hours, including brief drink stops and the waterfall snack/splash stop and then adjourned to two separate eateries, according to desired food/beverage preferences. Neo cafe had no electricity, water or coffee, though the chicken was good/popular. Thanks to Mr A and Khun C for photos.
