For those who want an easier, shorter hike, this one will take about 4 hours. It still has enough uphill to give us a workout. (For the more strenuous main hike, scroll down to the next post.)
We will meet at the arboretum at 7:30 to leave at 7:40, and car pool up the Baan Doi Pui. The first part takes us through the village and their flower garden and then onto a well maintained trail which leads to a ridge with views over a valley on one side and Doi Pui on the other side. Hopefully there will be clearer views than the one you see in the photo. We will rest here and eat our snacks, then continue along the ridge to see the Buddah footprint before starting back. Once back at Baan Doi Pui we can feast on lunch. Our usual choice is Khao Soy, but you are free to chose another venue if you prefer.
Things to bring: good walking shoes, poles if you have any, insect repellent, at least 1 1/2 liters water, snacks, 100 baht for your driver if you are a passenger plus money for lunch, energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor.
