18/02/18_Two Waterfalls Loop

This is a fairly easy hike, suitable for most people. It should take about 3-4 hours, depending on how long we take for breaks. We will meet at the Arboretum at 7:30, starting and ending there, so no need for car sharing.

The hike begins following a path off the main road up to Huay Kaew waterfall and continuing up to Wang Bua Ban, crossing the road and continuing up to the right hand fork which leads to Chang Khian waterfall. There we will stop as long as necessary to enjoy the water and have a snack break. I don’t know how much water there will be, but come prepared to get wet if you enjoy that. Afterward we will work our way back down to the road near the Boy Scout Camp and stop for refreshments at the NeoCafe along that road before turning right and continuing back to the main road, exiting via the Seismic Center and walking back down to the arboretum.

Bring a snack, money for refreshments, and a bathing costume if you want to go in the water. As always, bring energy and humor.

Hike Leader: Janet

If you want to join

Just turn up at the meeting place on the day and on time.

No groups, but dogs are welcome.

Meeting Place

This time we will meet at 07:30 in the car park of the Huay Kaeow Arboretum (also known as the exercise park). There is no need to let us know you are coming.

  • Head straight out from the moat 3.5 km towards Doi Suthep on Huay Kaeow Road.
  • The arboretum is on the left after the front entrance to Chiang Mai University and just before the entrance to the Zoo.
  • The car park of the arboretum is at the end of the park near the zoo.
