The hike is going ahead.
(It still possible that recent rain might make the currents too strong for safe swimming, but we hope not.)
This is a fairly easy and short hike/swim in Op Khan national park. The starting point is the headquarters in the park and from there we will meander along a road and path until we meet the river just below the swimming point in a small gorge. After a leisurely swim we will walk back along the river bank to the start of the hike. (It involves a bit of clambering on steep slopes and rocks). On the way back we may investigate a new swimming point to determine its suitability for future aquatic activity. The hike/swim should take about three hours and afterwards we will have lunch in either the Phufinn or Canyon restaurant.
Warning: you are reminded that you are responsible for your own safety and actions at all times. The place is now okay for confident swimmers, but you need to be wary of areas where strong currents could suck you through small gaps to serious injuries.
